Weird artifacts on a new RX580 build

cezzbb

Sincerely would appreciate everyone's help done my first self build in a long time with wife and kids during lockdown.

Went for a

  • Thermal Take V21 case
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Asrock b450m HDB r4.0
  • Sapphire RX580
  • Colink enclave 600 fully modular

Idea being it has lots of room for expansion but was still well within my £650 budget at the time.

Anyway short version I'm having weird crashes all the time no under specific load not under specific heat and I want to diagnose but not sure how.

See attached image of the artifacts seen when crash happens, like I said sometimes after this it will continue as if nothing happened other times it will have killed the game other times the whole PC with reboot.

Sincerely hope you can help.

That looks to be a dead RX 580. The solution is to RMA it if its a new card (or still under warranty) or get a new card if it was used and is out of warranty.

  • 2 weeks later...

So my card got sent back for a full refund they refused to replace it as they have increased the price of units now ended up getting a XFX GTS XXX rx580 instead but noticing much lower framerates about 40% drop from what I was getting with the Saphire unit previously, anyone else noticed this or can advise specific tuning I could do on this card?
