Looking to upgrade my current build

tnick771

Hey guys, will probably keep my GPU and some other items since I’m not going for higher than 1080p gaming right now. Any call outs for the rig here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DKYMDx

thanks!

Yes, 1080p maxed out.

I ran into CPU issues with RDR2 so I had to upgrade.

I had an i5-3470. I was getting really bad frame rates and strange artifacts. I updated my GPU drivers and it didn’t help. I finally checked “Will It Run” and it looks like my CPU didn’t meet minimum requirements even.

Ohhh I see. So what you linked is what you're looking at upgrading to.

What parts out of there do you already own?

WD Black drives are overpriced. A Seagate Barracuda makes more sense.

Cheaper B450 board and slightly cheaper psu.

Means you can get a 3700X for $10 more. You could also look for a cheap W10 key instead of paying MS $109.99.

The win key...? (not talking more about it ;))

Besides that: Gskill Aegis RAM might be even cheaper and same perf.

HDD: Yeha get a Baracude Compute or a WD Blue. Whatever is cheaper.

Rest of the build: yes

FOLDING MONTH 2021! GOGOGO and save on some heating costs 🙂

I know cheap keys are a grey area, but I would rather not have a pc than give MS $110 😎

I’ll be bringing over my GPU and my two SSDs.
