I was with my buddy once he was selling a 2500k.

We meet this guy in a Safeway parking lot. My friend gives him the motherboard (a dead one) with a heatsink on it that he was using to keep the cpu safe i guess.

Instead of taking the heatsink off to even see if a processor was there the guy was like yeah sure ill take it all.

Dumbass could have got ripped off big time.

I'm more afraid of getting screwed than getting shot. And we were in Portland mind you.

I have bought and sold some things on craigslist but computer parts is too risky. There is no way to test the component and good luck ever getting your money back.

It's not entirely risky. Most of my last PC was purchased off Craigslist, and as a result I paid 1/3 of what it would have cost me.

Also, all of the parts were new in the box. So. It's not all bad.

It can. You can also be smart about it and go over everything. It's pretty easy to spot sketchy people as well.

Just because something can happen doesn't mean it will.

@ShiverMePenguins just go with a friend, inside a place like Starbucks or McDonalds.

I go alone, and I've never had a problem. That said I tend to intimidate most people for some reason.

I also live in Canada. We're much more civil here. :P

I have very broad shoulders and a lot of people I meet say I look like I fight. I have this burgundy hoodie that's a little shiny (it's thermal) and I constantly get asked how long I've been boxing when I wear it. It's odd.

I was thinking about it but don't want to get ripped off. When I see something like "never been overclocked" I just pass that up.

depending on the interpretation and definition with regards to time of 'yet'
