I like Linus, but I don't really like his voice.

7412

I'm genuinely interested in his point of view, his ideas, his projects and, all in all, I like him. He's a good, lovable person.

But his voice is so high-pitched, it quickly gives me headaches, and he knows that he has to behave in a sensationalist way to get views on YouTube, so he makes it worse by screaming for no reason sometimes.

I can't be the only one with this, and I believe the main reason everyone loves Anthony so much, myself included, is because his videos are a nice break from Linus' voice, and his calm demeanor is really appreciated.

I didn't mean to be rude. I did state that I like him, for his personality and content, else I wouldn't watch or even be here.

Speaking more calmly would help, I think? He tends to act over-enthusiastic sometimes, which really worsens the situation.

Just don't watch his videos if you don't like them.

I like the fact he talks with real energy and enthusiasm, its probably what got me to sub as many of the other tech channels are kinda sombre bordering on monotone, or they talk too fast.

If he was just like everyone else, why would I bother watching?

Eh, you get used to it quickly.

Try Dave Jones, you'll enjoy Linus afterwards. Followed him long before I came across LTT and it was hard at the beginning.

But I do like them. My current setup is 100% inspired by one of his videos (the cleanest setup one). He's full of good ideas, knowledgeable, likeable.

I just happen to be tilted by his voice, which does not prevent me from liking him or his content.

What does that have to do with anything? Do you need to be physically attracted to someone's voice to enjoy their content?

Didn't your mother ever tell you it's not kind to hate on people about thing's they can't change?

"hate" is a strong word. You sound as if I outright disliked the channel and made an account just to start spewing slurs on the forums.

Sharing a feeling of irritation is not inherently bad. Besides, there are actually some things he can do to dampen the effect: there are vocal exercises you can do to change your voice pitch, and without being so radical, just speaking more calmly would make it more bearable.

Listen, I understand that you dislike my thread, but I would really appreciate if you would stop using the word "hate", because this is really not what it's about.

I find if you dislike someone's voice then you find an issue or fault with the person as a whole. The guy has a inferiority complex. Small hands, tiny overall, looks like a boy and has been stuck in the 90s. <.<

alright maybe hate wasn't the proper word but what else do I call it when you go out of your way to make a thread, pointing something out about a person that makes them, them. He was born with that voice, high or not and he shouldn't have to go out of his way to change that because somebody finds it annoying.

We're all born flawed. Does that mean we should just stay that way, and expect people to blindly accept it?

Some people are born with deformities, or physical anomalies that make it hard for them to accept themselves. Of course, an annoying voice is not that extreme of a flaw, but I would argue that great or small, it is our duty to do what we can to better ourselves.

Having a high voice isn't a flaw, just because you don't like something does not make it a flaw. If you expect other people to conform to you and what you like, you are in for a surprise in life. I can't remember which WAN show it was, but I remember Linus saying he either tried using a lower voice or he was sick and didn't have a choice, but either way if I remember correctly generally people didn't like it and preferred his natural voice.

Flaws make us human. When it comes to people in your life and how they judge those flaws (at least the ones you have no control over changing), I'm a firm believer that people who matter don't care and people that care don't matter.

There's a difference between bettering yourself (knowledge, skills, relationships, etc.) and accepting things you cannot change (physical traits for example).

Linus can't control the voice he was born with and you just need to deal with it. Or just don't watch the videos.
