Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 7 3700x for my gaming rig

I want to build a new PC. Now I'm confused b/w Ryzen 5 3600 and Ryzen 7 3700x. Corsair AIO or stock cooler. Please guide me.

Other components that I'm gonna use-

GPU-RTX 2070 super 

RAM-G.skill Trident z neo 3600 Mhz 8x2 kit

HDD-Seagate Barracuda 2 TB 7200

SSD-WD SN550 500 GB

Case-CM MB511 case

PSU-CM Masterwatt 750 watts

Monitor- I haven't decided yet but most probably 2k @165Hz.

As I have mentioned in the topic title I m gonna do mainly gaming on this.

This PC should be future proof so please suggest accordingly.

Tier lists for building a PC.

 

Motherboard tier list. Tier A for overclocking 5950x. Tier B for overclocking 5900x, Tier C for overclocking 5800X. Tier D for overclocking 5600X. Tier F for 4/6 core Cpus at stock. Tier E avoid.

(Also case airflow matter or if you are using Downcraft air cooler)

Gpu tier list. Rtx 3000 and RX 6000 not included since not so many reviews. Tier S for Water cooling. Tier A and B for overcloking. Tier C stock and Tier D avoid.

( You can overclock Tier C just fine, but it can get very loud, that is why it is not recommended for overclocking, same with tier D)

Psu tier List. Tier A for Rtx 3000, Vega and RX 6000. Tier B For anything else. Tier C cheap/IGPU. Tier D and E avoid.

(RTX 3000/ RX 6000 Might run just fine with higher wattage tier B unit, Rtx 3070 runs fine with tier B units)

Cpu cooler tier list. Tier 1&2 for power hungry Cpus with Overclock. Tier 3&4 for overclocking Ryzen 3,5,7 or lower power Intel Cpus. Tier 5 for overclocking low end Cpus or 4/6 core Ryzen. Tier 6&7 for stock. Tier 8&9 Ryzen stock cooler performance. Do not waste your money!

I'm from India and there is no fixed budget but the parts should be the same that i have mentioned here. And please guide me for the right processor and cooler and I'll take care of rest.

By 2k do you mean 1080p or 1440p?  1440p is 2.5k.

There's no such thing. We can make educated guesses for how the future will turn out, but always prepare for an upgrade.

 

I'd recommend a 3600 or 3600x (the X variants are basically pre-overclocked), along with a decent cooler. Right now a 6c/12t system is nice to have but still a little excessive for gaming. A 3700X won't really make a difference there.

2k is for 1440p

Why you didn't recommend 3700x. I saw many youtube videos on it and find that it would give better fps as compared to R5 3600.

I'm sorry, but this is amazing. I don't see that answer very often, and I always "fight" "future proof" builds. That make no sens. So thank you.

Higher range < Higher upgrades frequency.

That's why I recommended the 3600X. The 3700X has a higher clock speed than the regular 3600.
