I9 10920x or Ryzen 7 3950x/4950x

Hello, between the i9 10920x + evga x299 dark and the 3950x + Aorus Master x570 which cpu would you get for both productivity and gaming or wait for the 4th gen ryzen. The cpus will be paired with an RTX 3080 ti (since im waiting for next gen). i will be doing stuff like solidworks in college for engineering and some gaming plus overclocking and benching on 3d mark.

3950x, 

 

i see no obvious reason to get the 10920x. at least for your usecase.

3950x will beat the Intel and it will have way more affordable upgrade options going forward, if it were me, 3950x.

yeah, the 3950x would be a huge upgrade on anything that can use the cores
