CPU overheating, GPU is not. How to use separate folding power?

So, if I put "Folding Power" to "Medium", my CPU, a Ryzen 2700X, quickly approaches 90C, which isn't healthy. Dropping the power to "Light" keeps it at a steady 74C

 

However, "Light" folding power means the GPU won't be folding. Meanwhile, the GPU, a Vega64, at Medium, stays at a nice 64C.

 

It seems I can't provide separate Folding Power? One for GPU and one for CPU?

 

Anyone know how I can make this happen?

remove the manual oc and put precision boost overdrive on, on amd ryzen master. it will down clock when the cpu is getting too hot.

You can open the advanced control panel from the taskbar, right click on the icon and select advanced control. There you can set if you want to fold on the cpu and or gpu and how many cpu cores you want to assign. 

 

More important than that however is to figure out why your temps are that high. Are you using the stock heatsink? What case do you have and where are the fans located?

Another thing you can do is go into advanced control > configure > slots tab > edit the cpu folding slot > change the number of cpu threads the slot should use. In a nutshell, you can set however many threads you want it to do while folding (lower number means less CPU usage).

No manual OC is in place. Everything is on "Auto".

That themp is the one reported by Speccy. Ryzen Master is consistently putting it 10C lower though. Heatsink is a beQuitev4. Don't remember case name, but I can assure you there are fans back and front and the airflow is working fine.

 

I'm in the advanced control but I'm not finding that stuff about amount of cpu cores anywhere. FaH version 7.5.1, which appears to be the most recent on the website.

I have a 2700x folding all available threads at it never 55C on a rather anemic 120mm AIO.

 

With a BeQuiet cooler you should be seeing something similar so you definitely either have a voltage issue or as others have stated a bad mount or paste.

I had the same problem so I disabled XFR on my 2700X and added a voltage offset of -0.05V.  The temps now hover around 47C on full folding.  I'm using CPU for Rosetta, and GPU for F@H.  I set the GPU powerlimit to 60% as well to keep the folding power efficient.  The system now pulls 260-300W from the wall compared to 400-450W when everything was on OC and full blast.

so there's no way to place the core workload to 2 core and the gpu full power without having to modify bios settings or something else?
