Correct fittings for 10/13 flexible tubing?

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

The description or the title of the product is wrong.

You'll have to contact them to find out.

Also XSPC fittings are pretty bad, you should be buying good quality fittings like bitspower if you don't want to risk a leak.

Planning to do a water cooled loop over the summer and these fittings are on sale right now. The tubing I plan on buying is 3/8" ID / 1/2" OD, or 10/13 mm flexible tubing. https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-duraclear-9-5-12-7mm

The fittings i'm looking at are labeled G1/4" to 3/8" ID, 1/2" OD Compression Fitting

However in the description it says For 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD Tubing (11.1mm ID, 16mm OD)

So I'm very confused whether this is a product page error or I'm just making a dumb mistake thinking these are right.

Okay Thanks. I'll probably end up getting some bitspower or ek fittings down the line. I looked at the websites tubing that they sell and they only sell 16/10 and 19/13 so I don't think they would've worked anyways.

Which particular fittings?

Torque HTC, HTC-Classic, ACF, Torque STC, STC-Classic, HD, HFB. EKWB has alot of different types of fittings (new and old)

Or perhaps all fittings EKWB has ever produced and will produce in future will be problematic in your eyes.

Good question tbh. I’m using EK STC Classic 10/16 and didn’t had any issues with them so far

Not sure, but I would assume the problem applies to all of them since it's usually the o-ring and thread area that leaks.

LTT has had leaks in like at least 3 videos where they used ek fittings so far.

Also seen it happen to other youtubes, and plenty of posts on reddit and other forums.

Any reason why you're using such small tubing?

I'll look in to this when i buy fittings. Really don't want to take any risks. Is thicker tubing better, I figured it wouldn't make a difference

Thicker tubing not gonna kink so much. Look at something like 16/10

Thicker wall will make it easier to bend without kinking.

Also 3/8 ID 5/8 OD is far more common which makes finding fittings much easier.

I use the cheapest nickel plated barb fittings I can find on ebay ($3 for 6 or so), and the OD of my barb I look to be slightly larger than the ID of the tubing I choose (Ive gone as big on the barb as the OD on the tubing).  I then use black small zip ties to secure - never had a leak yet and have 3 loops running this way.  Just tossing this in here as loops can be pretty expensive but there ARE other options.
