Proper Airflow Setup For My PC?

I want to change my airflow configuration in my micro-atx case and i was thinking of changing it to where i have a 240mm cpu aio mounted at the top with the fans as exhaust and have my other 120mm gpu aio mounted at the rear of the case and the fan also set as exhaust and then the two fans in the front are set as intake is that a good configuration with 2 fans intake and 3 radiator fans as exhaust or should i change it? I figure it would be bad to have the radiator fans set as intake because it would take the hot air from the radiators and pull it inside the case, i'm no expert though! My current setup is with my 240mm aio set to the front of the case with the fans as exhaust and the 120mm is still at the rear of the case but as intake and the two fans at the top are also intake and i experience really high temps.

I would leave the 240mm rad at the front of the case but have the fans as intake, top and rear fans as exhaust.

So have the rear radiator fan as intake to, are you sure? The rear radiator is to the Kraken G12 mod on my gpu and my gpu temps get way hotter than the cpu, is it okay to be pulling in the gpu heat to the inside of the case and that technically is blowing hot air through the cpu aio as well?

I have a 280mm EVGA CLC AIO and it’s in the front of my H510 Elite case as an intake fan and I’m not having any problems with it there. I also have a 140mm exhaust fan up top and a 120mm exhaust fan in the top-rear. I’m running a hot 8700K and a 2080 Ti so if my temps are fine I think most people’s rigs would be fine with it.

The first thing I'd try is both rads as intake and then the case fans as exhaust.  Is that how you have it now?

No the 240 rad is exhaust, the 120 rad is intake and the two fans at the top are also intake.

Then I'd try with both rads pulling in cool air from outside the case and exhausting with the case fans.

The Kraken G12 paired with the Corsair H80i is cooling my Strix OC 1080ti, though i underclocked the card and it sometimes goes into the upper 80's in Borderlands 3, so i'm trying to figure out what is causing such high temps in the card. My cpu is the 9700k which is also underclocked and delidded with liquid metal and a pure copper ihs and temps are high 70's as well.

High 70s CPU temps is fine under full load. My 8700K gets up to mid-80s Celsius and I’m fine with that. I haven’t had any problems with it. I’d get worried in the low 90s. Especially for CPUs that are known to run hot.

 

My EVGA XC2 Ultra 2080 Ti is a whole different story. It’s insanely well built and doesn’t go up above 65C even under full load. Then again I paid a premium price for this model over stock 2080 Tis so I do expect some perks like that.

 

All in all though nothing wrong with mountain your radiator in front as an intake fan as long as you have good airflow.

When you say have the radiator fans as intake and the case fans as exhaust, should the radiator fans be in front of the radiators or behind or does it even matter?

I'd imagine it doesn't matter.  Whichever way is easier to install.

Positive, it is better to promote good airflow through the case.

I'd recommend in front of the radiator, behind will yield worse results.

Do you mean having the fan between the case wall and the radiator?  Because I guess it makes sense having the fan as close to the source of air as possible.  Though I haven't seen anything showing that a fan in push is better than a fan in pull.

Yeah, otherwise the fans have to overcome the resistance of the front panel plus the radiator, I've seen a few videos on it, I think GN and Jay did a good video on this. Push/Pull really depends on where the rad is placed and the case it is being used in.
