Is this considered a good "low budget" build?

Hi everyone!

Since I did not build a computer in my life before, I was thinking of building one myself in the time of quarantine (for gaming purpose (LOL, CSGO...) or maybe some light video editing).

Here are the components I would choose:

- ASUS PRIME B450-Plus AM4 ATX

- AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3,6/4,2GHz 32MB AM4

- Patriot Viper Steel Kit 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3000

- Chieftec ECO Series 600W ATX (power supply)

- MSI GeForce GTX 1650 VENTUS XS 4G OC, 4GB GDDR5 (or maybe a low powered for starters.... some 1030 or something like that)

- *I already have an old case, and some ssd drives that I could use*

Are those good parts, or should I go in the direction of Intel Core i5-8400 and then choose the parts accordingly?

Thank you!

the 3600 is much better than the intel 8400. however, the other components you chose aren't great.

what's your budget and country? we can help with a better build.

the gpu is very slow for gaming compared to the cpu, the PSU and motherboard aren't great and the ram could be faster.

better psu refer to this and get atleast b category:

better gpu. You said for starters? going to upgrade soon after that? then 1650 is decent choice. Otherwise get this:

Ryzen 1600 af (similar to ryzen 5 2600, litte worse than 3600 but 2.5x cheaper) And the cheapest motherboard but stil decent.

16 gig of 3200 mhz ram and good psu.

And much better gpu tahn 1650 super. Added 2th hdd for large files and future

for csgo the ryzen 5 1600 af will be enough. 1650 super is better than 1650 with similar price. It will be more than enough for csgo and lol, and some AAA titles with medium-highs settings at 1080p

i'd go with something like this. cpu is still better than a 8400 from intel, with a much better gpu (which is what makes game run better)

Thank you both for the recommendations!

I will try to follow them as much as possible, and then get back to you once I will start building it (somewhere in the future ahah)

@boggy77 @SavageNeo

if you're not building for a few weeks, come back when ready and we might adjust the build based on changes in prices/components
