Dell PERC S100/S300 Controller Question

SenKa

Are there working Windows 10 drivers for this card? Device Manager can't seem to find any. I pulled it from an old workstation that I got for free, so im not out anything if it doesn't work out.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Looks like its got support for server 2008, could try manually pointing to the 2008 driver and see if it'll take. I've done steps in the past to make a driver not deny being used by a newer OS but i'd be lying if I said I remembered the details-but worth a shot.

Likely not but as TheRealShadoh said you may be able to manually install the driver for the server distro of Windows. Sometimes this doesn't work those as it may claim OS incompatibility.

Device manager wouldn't even sniff at the server 2008 driver, sadly. Looks like I'm SOL.

Were you looking to use it as a RAID card or to hold more drives?

I wonder if HBA firmware may be available for it and if that could enable the OS to see it as just a generic controller for JBOD.

It has not been reflashed, so it still shows as a RAID card. The goal was to use it as an HBA.

I would research flashing the card to IT mode. Nothing to lose if you brick it right? ;)

If it doesn't pan out look into the Dell PERC H310. Super cheap RAID card. Easy to flash to IT mode, though I have told that's not necessary. Should be modern enough for Windows to pick it up. I have one if you want me to verify prior to you buying anything.
