Building PC that can use 4 GPUs at the same time?

Quick!!!  Tell me any CPU+Mobo combo that can use 4 GPUs...

 

I have 16 monitors and wants to connect all of those with one PC.

So, 1 PC that can use 4GPU (non-SLI) for 16 total output displays.

I'm not sure those GPU can have full x16 PCIe Lanes each but x8 will just fine.

 

Any CPU and Motherboard that can use 4 GPUs ?

Already have 16 monitors and 4 of 2070 Super.

 

I don't have the limit how much to spend on this ... so ... shoot!


Edit : No splitter nor matrix switches... just pure 1PC 16Display one of a kind.

all you need is 4 PCIe slots spaced far enough from each other to hold the cards, so I hope you've got 2 slot cards and not some 3 slot cards

How powerful do the GPUs have to be? Matrox specializes in GPUs that do a LOT of displays, like e.g. a single Matrox C900 can do 9 displays all on its own. You'd only need two to get 18 displays!

thread ripper or epyc could do it if you need all to have decent pcie links

threadripper even a 1st gen 8 cores has 64 pcie lanes

Sure, and they're even doing pretty well, too. Dipping out of the consumer-market and focusing on pro-market seems to have been a wise decision.

I only have 3 slot cards that are big. Those might take space.

Don't need much power for the displays. Just some video and statistics apps and some web pages at the same time. I'm looking at Matrox C900 right now but don't know which Mobo should I go with... Any suggestions?

I'm not familiar with Epyc but I think I'll have to dig around Threadripper.
I might also need some decent CPU works so 2nd gen is fine?
