Speaker stands with a 24º tilt angle

Hello

 

I've been trying to find a suitable pair of speaker stands for my ADAM Audio T5V studio monitors for my specific needs. The specifics are that they are going to be positioned above a triple monitor setup, on a shelf, for a future desk build, and most importantly, involves absolutely zero modifications done to the monitors themselves.

 

Here's the current mockup I have going right now:

 

Many of the speaker stands that I can find have a maximum tilt angle of 8º. Based on my calculations of using an equilateral triangle, the relative listening position (my chest about 12 inches from the edge of the desk) included, the tilt angle needs to be 24º, three times more than the maximum tilt angle you can find on off-the-shelf speaker stands.

 

Which leaves me at the dilemma: Are there any speaker stands with this maximum tilt angle available? Or is this something that needs to be custom-made? If it needs to be custom made, what materials do you guys recommend I use to make them? I have a table saw, a planer, some power drills, and a woodworking router at home, so I can easily do the build if that's what you guys recommend.

You will need to figure out how the mount interfaces to the speaker itself but you can get ball mounts types like these which have a high degree of freedom:

The speakers doesn't have any provisions for any mounting hardware

 

As I said, zero physical mods to make the thing work. Plus I'm capable of building my own stands if need be.

If they don't have any mounting options the easiest would be to just use a plate and double sided mounting tape or 3M dual lock to adapt them onto a mount either it being purchased or something that is home made. 

 

Using a ball mount or dual jointed arm would provide you all essentially unlimited degrees of freedom.

If I wanted to go with 3M dual lock, which kind of dual lock would I go with that can support 15 lbs with no sweat?

With two strips of dual lock a couple inches long that would be more than substantial enough, provided that those speakers aren't like a brick of lead.

Each of the monitors weight almost 13 lbs. So they're kind of heavy imo.

 

What would you suggest that I go with for the double-locking tape?

The dual lock with enough surface area, even hanging vertically downward it can take quite a lot. In it's ideal application you want it to be in shear as that can take a lot of force. 

 

This should put you at ease, it's maybe a 2" by 6" area of dual lock.
