Possible to overturn Overwatch Account Ban?

So today I wanted to log into Overwatch and play a couple games, and it said account banned when I was logging into Overwatch. I then went to check my email (haven't done so in a week, my bad) I saw an email saying that my account was banned for "Hacks" and then I saw a couple of Account Verifications which were not mine. (my email account was also recently compromised and I recently changed the password and added 2FA)

 

I have never used hacks before, neither do I even know how to.

 

I haven't even played in the past week because I was quite occupied with other things and I only logged in last night because I wanted to play a couple of games before I had to urgently leave home before I even got to play a game.

 

I have submitted a normal livechat ticket and the GM said there was no signs of compromise in my account and directed me to submitting an appeal instead. I have submitted one already.

 

What are the chances that they will overturn the ban on my account? Or will I just have to suck it up and buy a new copy of the game.

TBH the chances of overturning bans are very little unless you can prove that your account was hacked

Take screenshots of the emails showing the time they came in, also of the login history of your email. It'll be really helpful if it shows that most logins are from one place but those suspicious ones are from somewhere completely different.

gmail unfortunately shows only recent activity and the oldest one is this morning, all of them are from my IP sadly

You can request your activity before the data from google

Unless you are Luke level of celebrity, none really. Blizzard could stonewall you all day and not give bigger turd about it. They have even said, somewhat directly, that you can just buy another game if you have been banned for hacking. They don't really care anymore. Money is more important than integrity.

A friend of mine is willing to give me one of his lower level accounts, will I still be able to safely re-link my main email (the one which got banned) to his battle.net account after i re-link the banned account to one of my throwaway emails?

I've not been banned so I can't say for sure. Based on what I've heard from Youtubers and streamers, its just Battle.net account. Not full hardlock like what Epic does with Fortnight. Which is why cheaters and hackers are able to just create another account and buy a game constantly. So their system really isn't about integrity.

To be safe, just use another email. If it's anything like Steam, then bans are tied to email and phone number linked to the account.

 

You could try pestering Blizzard support till you get an actual person to look at the ban instead of an automated response. If what you are saying is true, then ask them to look at IP addresses and/or hardware IDs.

 

In future, consider using Blizzard authenticator to secure your account.

if your account got really hacked they will be able to see the different IP address and should unban you.

pestering them i heard gets to nowhere, and yeah i will definitely use the authenticator.

I don't know if it will consider as a "hack" as recently all my accounts with the same password were compromised including my main email address and battle.net. I was slowly changing all my passwords over the past few weeks, but I hadn't gotten to battle.net. So I assume the person straight up had my password and logged right in without my permission.

I've already accepted my account as gone. I don't expect to get it back. Only reason Luke got his account back was due to his very strong social media presence.

nah i bought it when it dropped in price to 20USD and never cashed in for lootboxes or whatever. wasn't very high rank anyways.
