Well bad news, I won't receive a GPU I ordered (r9 290x) because of the lockdown, but I was wondering if it could work at the same time with my actual GPU too or not ? I have a Vega 64.

I'm folding on a Vega64 and a 390x, and the Vega is a compute beast when it can find work to do - even more so than the 390x. Thanks for contributing!

Yes, there are CPU WUs out there as well, or at least I would assume so given the size of them that I've had recently. Just got one last night that said it'd take 18 hours to complete and that's on a 9600K running at 90-100% CPU usage at around 4-4.1Ghz. Unfortunately don't have a GPU right now, plan was to just get a system up and running last year when my old 2600K went down and then later get a GPU, but with how things went with my recovery and now this pandemic, think it'll be a good while until I can afford that, BUT, I'll keep trying to do my little part and help as much as I can.

There are CPU Corona WUs out too, right? I was processing a few which were in advanced stage.

I'm really wondering how my client is calculating me being able to do over 300k ppd when every WU I'm completing are worth less than 10k pts and taking 4+hours per WU after factoring in downtime.

Yes, I know it calculates based on having WUs constantly, but that is a bit of an oversight in software. (I've done computer programming, so I understand the potential difficulty of this) But I feel it may give the user a better experience if - for instance - the client logged (which it does have a log) the amount of time working, the amount of points for completing a WU, and the amount of time it takes to go from a completed WU to having a new one, then calculate a rough PPD that is actually close to the points you could actually be receiving.

Granted, I do know that they normally don't have issues on this scale, so they likely never needed to re-evaluate how their program calculates points.

As of right now, my WU to power consumption looks horrible, 14 WUs completed over 4.5 days.

Anyways, little rant is over. It's not like this is a system breaking thing so I'm not too worried about it, I'm just tired of opening web client and seeing 1/10th of the points I'm expecting. (Honestly, at this point someone making 300k ppd would expect to be closing in on 1m points and I'm not even at 100k (EoC is saying 141k but not all of those are associated with my passkey).

From my understanding the first 10 WU of a passkey count way less than the WUs after that. Looks like the bonus you get after is the base credits*10 or something in that ballpark. @LordKitsune

The last 4 I've completed have been worth less thanthe first 10 I did. Maybe it's not counting some of em, but I had only completed about 4 WUs before I got my passkey. Maybe I'm right at that threshold.

However, before passkey the estimated PPD was sub 100k regardless of how I had it set-up and with I can't get it to drop under 200k if my GPU is doing anything. Estimated points on a single GPU work unit is predicted to be around 100k points, but I'm only getting maybe a couple thousand, and much less for CPU (expected though, it's a quad core)

The guys at F@H said there are currently problems with points but that points will still be counted just may not be displayed correctly right now.

Hey - Brand new to the folding scene.

I seemingly have everything set up and have been folding for most of today, but there are a few things that are confusing me.

Whenever my GPU (RX580) is folding, my FAH web control page doesn't load correctly. When the CPU is Folding as well it does... at least most of the time.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? I suspect that it is still Folding correctly, just an issue with reporting.

Also, the CPU jobs are finishing faster than the GPU ones - Is this normal? I assume that the GPU jobs are the tough ones and the CPUs get the slightly easier tasks.

Thanks for any help/advice

Did you drop or fail any WUs?

Anyway there's a display issue in the estimation at the mo it seems, I also had a 4h WU on my 1070 that somehow gave a 16k pt estimation, normally should be > 60k... I paused, restarted FAH and now estimation is correct at 65k

About yours, the reason for failure is likely in the lines above you didn't paste.

Seems like my CPU keeps getting non-covid19 WU which isn't a big deal, but I noticed my GPU and CPU only run one at a time. Is there something misconfigured with my client that it would only run one slot at a time? Or is this mostly still up to the abundance of machines and lack of WU delivery?

As long as you set folding power to full, just availability.

Been like this for the past 24h, the thing is that in the meantime i was able to complete and upload 2 WUs, and one of them was uploaded to the same collection server, restarting didn't work though.

Well, not just full. You can set it to medium or full and have both of them running but full basically says "Hey F@H, I'm not using any of this hardware so thrash it please."

No, I've only paused WUs and would resume them shortly after. I think the only 2 that I ditched were at the beginning when I broke the living dog turds out of the software lmao

Ahhh, didn't know there was an estimation issue in the first place, though the issue that hit you seems to be the opposite of what is happening to me. Currently my CPU is the only thing working and it's pulling in a whopping ~3k pts per day. 6hr work time (actually 8 or so but 2 have elapsed), base credit is 370 with estimated credit at 1000. Not even expecting to get 300 out of it though.
