I saw a few reply's here with my same issue, I have been getting CPU WU's like crazy to day but GPU WU's are far and few my daily points are down over 50% while not losing any clients. Is this happening to many others or just a few of us?

Yep. My GPU's sitting idle as well. You're not alone.

Shortage of GPU WUs, nothing out of normal.

Has anyone tried overclocking nvidia GPUs in linux? I tried setting the same overclocks that I had in windows and FAH keeps crashing with BAD_WORK_UNIT but it folds fine in windows.

What's the exact error you're seeing in the FAH logs. It should say what the error is a few lines above the log line where it says BAD_WORK_UNIT.

Eg:

16:33:30:WU01:FS01:0x17:Reading tar file state.xml
16:33:30:WU01:FS01:0x17:Reading tar file system.xml
16:33:30:WU01:FS01:0x17:Reading tar file integrator.xml
16:33:30:WU01:FS01:0x17:Reading tar file core.xml
16:33:30:WU01:FS01:0x17:Digital signatures verified
16:33:30:WU01:FS01:0x17:ERROR:exception: Bad platformId size. <----- Actual error
16:33:30:WU01:FS01:0x17:Saving result file logfile_01.txt
16:33:30:WU01:FS01:0x17:Saving result file log.txt
16:33:30:WU01:FS01:0x17:Folding@home Core Shutdown: BAD_WORK_UNIT <----- Final response from FAHCore

If you see an error log saying something like:

ERROR:exception: Bad platformId size.

Then it means it's an OpenCL driver issue. Either you don't have OpenCL drivers installed, you have mismatched drivers installed, or the drivers are unstable/bad.

My log just shows the core shutdown message just after readng the tar file. There wasn't any error messages. It only happens when I try to apply any overclocks while I'm in linux. Everything works fine on stock.

I used to all the time but with Core22 it's a lot more sensitive so I just don't bother anymore except for a 1070Ti that's base clock is in the low 1800s so I give that one a +100 but that's it. I've had no issues with the 1070Ti but I'm purposely still running 18.04.4 not that I use FAHControl in Linux

Strangely I havent had any issues under powered with a +mhz offset, or full power with some extra mhz added, both 1070ti's are just as stable on Core21 as they were on core 22 (Maybe cause I dint push them that hard in the first place? 60% power limit with a +150mhz, max power and I believe only +100mhz)

Same here with my 1070 +90CC worked fine on C21 and it works fine with C22, however, my 1080 Ti's all needed to be lowered as well as all my AMD cards. Not sure why 1070 is the only one okay with same OC (and it is highest stable OC for C21, I can assure you of that... It couldn't handle another step up in CC).

I wish I have that kind of spare parts

I know I'm pretty lucky to work in IT and have access to enough stuff to do something like this.

I also work to cut budgets for "spare" non critical parts by having a hobby of trolling ebay for deals and "as is" components that might need minor repairs.

The ITX board used for example was deeply discounted because the original owner broke off the chipset fan and heat sync / fan header for it...   so I pick it up.. it works... and I will have to build a cooling system for the chipset and fix the header, but otherwise a perfectly good x570 ITX board for the cost of a new b320.

I noted similar issues with my 1080ti OC on my main system. I removed it entirely for the folding event since I didnt ant to miss out on PPD troubleshooting it.

I actually found a great spot at +35CC and +100 MC on my 1080 Ti and had PL at 120% while the event was active, but as soon as it ended, I just dropped PL to 65% and lost about 100k-200k PPD while using less than 50% of power (wattage measured by iCue with 850i PSU) for same work units.

Whew, thought something was strange that all the GPU WU stopped very suspiciously when the LTT event concluded.
I'm in the middle of moving, and so my PC has nothing to do otherwise. Hopefully this means more steady WU when they start up again.
