So hfm.net and FAH control can pause/resume slots remotely, maybe there is a way to make a script that can babysit slots automatically

I WANT THAT SCRIPT. someone make it!!!

I usually only pause+start, 2 or 3 time and often (not 100%) I will get a WU.

I have not figure out how to stop the tool multiplying by 2 each time that it fails :(, sometime I see that the next retry is in 2h! :(

I want to know the Command settings for that slot that changes attempt times to 10 sec each time

ill tell you a secret. if it fails after the 3rd connection attempt. Restart the app. don't bother pausing and starting again. that always works for me. There are the occasional dead times tho.

Nope... Right now it seems to be mostly my 1070 (not OC or nothing, just stock) causing the issues my AMD based computer and the 640 typically are not having issues collecting WU. Which sucks because my 1070 can push about 600k ppd if under full load.

I would think the client chooses a random server each time it is started, the downside of this could be that you would interrupt uploads, I'm not sure if they are resumed or have to restart from the beningging after a client restart

You Wont interrupt Uploads or downloads. The Assignment and Collections Servers are completely separate servers from the WU servers. You cannot interfere with uploads as its not the same server.

Typically it is random based on hardware afaik. Also uploads/downloads are not resumable sadly.

Sets the work unit percentage completed as to when the V7 client downloads the next Work Unit (WU) while the current WU is processing, where XX is between 90-100%.  99% is the default setting.

A idling slot should not be negatively effected by this in any way...

leave 2 cores free and it wont so long as case has proper cooling. would recommend manually speeding up fans on the GPU

Yea, read the other setting... I'm fine with it never had a issue with it in the past, unless OCing. Their support page has way too much text for me to bother reading after 60 hours of being behind a screen instead of work 😅

only if you dont change Proccesor Priority to normal in Task manager. but you would have to change it for every new GPU WU.

That's for Nvidia really, I've not seen any real change with my 5700xt with my Ryzen paused, it has dropped a whooping 8 seconds per TPF... I can't really see pausing or lowering me core count would actually be beneficial to both my points and over assistance in folding.

Note: For me that is from 59 to 51 seconds

Run a test, run both in full load for about 15-30 minutes then pause the cpu, give it about 5-10 minutes and see how much faster the TPF becomes (lower=better), if you lose more than a few seconds (like me) then try lowering the core count by:

FAHControl>Configure>Slots>CPU>Edit> change the -1 in the cpu section to all but 2 cores for your cpu and rerun the test. Find the best balance for your computer and maximize your PPD/support :)

Note: while typing this my GPU jumped from 59 to 1 minute 9 seconds for no apparent reason and has since gone back to 59 seconds.
