Go to solution Solved by GOTSpectrum,

This event has ended and I recommend you guys head over to the Folding Community Board for any general folding conversation.

Woah, you actually bottlenecked that card really hard, is it even stable with such low clocks?

You mean in general or for folding?

I had no crash so far and not any rejected WU's as far as I am aware of.

Mind you, if you mean in gaming/outside of folding, I don't use those settings.

If I may ask, why are you using those settings for folding then? For efficiency? Or noise/heat reduction?

I've dedicated a core on my Home Server for this, but I don't think I'll get to 500K points anytime soon.
I received a WU last night that takes over 25 hours and awards me 800 points.

Not that joining the raffle is my main goal, but it would be nice though :)

I have picked this back up for COVID-19 after not doing it for a few months. I have been running my main rig i7-6700k and GTX 1070OC, my main laptop i7-2720QM and another laptop with a Core 2 Duo T9300. It actually works out quite well if you're on lockdown working on a remote system. Getting through quite a few work units for Team LTT!

Desktop: Intel Core i7-6700k, ASUS Z170-PRO, Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 64GB DDR4 (3200 MHz), ASUS 1070 DUAL OC, Corsair Spec-Alpha, SanDisk Ultra II SSD (960GB), Corsair CX Series CX750M, LG 34UM88C-P, Corsair H100i v2, Corsair K55 RGB, Windows 10 Education

Desktop 2: Intel Core i7-4790k, Lenovo Sharkbay, Kingston HyperX Fury 24GB DDR3 (2133MHz), Gigabyte 1650 OC Low Profile, Lenovo M93 SFF, SanDisk Ultra II SSD (960GB), Silverstone TX700

Laptop: Sony VAIO VPCEH1L8E, Intel Core i7-2720QM, Sony MBX-247 DA0HK1MB6E0 (REV:E), Kingston Hyper X 16GB DDR3L (2133 MHz), Western Digital Blue SSD (500GB), Panasonic E233037 (CPU Fan), Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260, Windows 10 Home

Other Laptop: HP G7010EA, Intel Core 2 Duo T9300, Crucial 5GB (4+1) DDR2 (667MHz), Samsung 960 Evo SATA SSD (500GB), Windows 10 Home

I intend to run both GPU's 24/7 for the event, so noise/heat as the pc is right next to me on my table and after 50% fans the 1080TI starts to morph into a jet engine, which hinders my current working from home :P

Ordered another card for the cause... thanx Linus 😆

There was too good of a deal to let go by... MSI 2080 Seahawk / 700€ (= card with a EK waterblock)... funny though, there have been lying an extra RTX EK waterblock on my shelf since -19 summer...

Passing on old and trusty 1080Ti probably to my mother or someone LUL 😁

I could put that work, have plenty of PSU and room, just no more GPUs

I've been waiting for CPU work units for a long time now, saw a suggestion to right click on the node in the advanced view and click on idle then do it again to renable.  Immediately got a work unit.

20 cores back up and running thanks for the tip.

Estimated PPD 1.9M when running. Is that ok for RTX2080? Of cource can't get even near cos don't get those WUs....

My PPD is 2m (for 2080), I Thinks its normal, But in reality you can't hit that because upload/download delay and wu variation/availability, and maybe because CPU bottleneck (CPU is needed to generate some data for GPU, and somehow its not calculated on estimated PPD/TPF) - when working on wu you can observe graph on task manager, whenever GPU idle, CPU is on full load - out just watch your temperature

I'm folding with 2080 (PPD 2M) and 2060 (PPD 1.1M) - MSI OC and my ACTUAL PPD only 2.1-2.2m

I also got one of the jobs for COVID-19, 11744 I think, something like that.

I should have started this years ago. :)

Congrats! I recently just reached near 200k, also hey I'm also working on that same project number right now :)

I power limit my 1070ti's to 60% power, but overclock them +150 on the core because they will otherwise sit in the 1600mhz range and never hit the power limit. (screen shot shows 50% but I've bumped it since then for stability)

ITNOS sits in the basement so I never have to worry about fan noise, but I do set reasonable fan curves as to not 100% fan curve my fans to death!
