For folding, 2x RTX 2060 is best value. The 2080 ti has good PPD and outstanding power efficiency but the cost to buy one is not worth it. PPD is not a set-in-stone metric as it varies wildly by specific work units. 2060 does about 1.1 - 1.3 million. Something sketchy going on with the K.O. I think it has accidentally more CUDA cores enabled or something in that direction. Check out this:

Please read carefully what I wrote. Never suggested the K.O. has any benefit in folding compared to other 2060 models.

I've only got 20-slots going now but another GPU and CPU will be arriving this afternoon as our eldest returns from exile at Uni - they just don't know their going to be contributing yet.

 

And best of all as of today our Electricity Provider has eliminated the time-of-day rates so power is at the lowest rate 24x7.

@GOTSpectrumWhat's the source that the K.O. does not perform any better in folding? The Gamers Nexus findings suggest that it has up to +47 % workstation performance aka CUDA workloads. Folding is a CUDA workload therefore it should perform better.

Yeah I do have a 110, I have a khrone style one. 

 

That yellow one you see there is only used to strip cables.

Yeah, have my local networking supplier about 15 miles away. They are an NHS contractor so are still operating... relatively normally

Someone's also messaged me to help see if I am able to optimize the power consumption so fingers crossed I can figure something out.

As I mentioned in another post my electricity provider in Eastern Ontario has eliminated time-of-day rates due to the pandemic.

 

What I was doing before this on Linux was I had a Cron job running and at 04:30 was setting all my GPU slots to "finish" (FAHClient - -finish) so current jobs would mostly be done by 07:00 when the rates went up then restart folding (FAHClient - -un-pause) at 11:00 when the rates went down again then similar commands for the 17:00-19:00 on-peak period. The Scheduler should be able to be used on Windows to the same effect.

Yes, there is a thread on the folding support form from people who have tried it in the wild. Gets the same PPD as my 2060

My standard 2060 does 1.3M on some WUs. 1.1-1.3M But I have it power limited like the rest of my cards for that sweet efficiency

Well last night my alienware m17x R5 Laptop battery died

 

He is dead Jim

And I'm getting 1.25MPPD on a 13873 WU currently on my 2060. I'm not at home right now so I don't have access to my HfM stats so I can check the 11738 he was referencing but the conclusion was
