Any idea when the LTT  server will be online, maybe then we will have more WU!

PS: Any URL that shows the WU available?

Cool, thank you. Got it. I am letting my RTX crunch some numbers against cancer right now while my CPU is waiting to get a task.

I don't know if i've missed it but can we also use multiple devices for the ltt folding challenge? I have an fx-8350 with an rx380 staying in the corner doing nothing which has been replaced with my current machine and also the pc from my girlfriend which isn's used that much right now (ryzen 2600X with GTX 1050). I know they aren't killer machines but i could use them too :)

Yes you can! I currently have two machines, the one in my sig and a 6700k @ 4.6 with a GTX 1080 both going ham in it!

I have been experimenting and I want to share what I found.  I have installed Folding@Home on several different computers.

Did you install Folding@Home on older hardware? Is your computer effective?

There is a simple way to figure this out.  Look at two numbers.  In the Folding@Home Advanced Control.

Sometimes it takes a few minutes to get a reasonable number calculated.  Let it run to at least 5% before you make a comparison.

Look at "Base Credit" and "Estimated Credit".

If they are the same number.  That machine can not keep up.  It is not worth it in my opinion.

Ideally you want the "Estimated Credit" to be a higher number then the "Base Credit".

These two numbers are the same when the folding will not be completed before the Timeout.  Once the timeout is reached the WU will be assigned to another machine.  Then even when your machine finishes the WU.  It is too late and a different machine in the world has already started working on the exact same WU.

You can find more information at this link.

Don't stress.  That is normal.  Sometimes it takes hours and hours.

Your computer is just being used as needed.  Maybe your machine is not needed right now.  Don't worry about it.  Just let it run at its own pace.

Actually it is a good thing.  It means that WU are being completed as fast as the scientists come up with stuff to do.  There is no backlog.  It is a good thing in a way.

Just started folding. I just wanna ask: Is it safe to leave it open at full setting overnight?

I run 24/7 and have for years. It's mostly safe as long as temps are in check.

If your PC does not overheat it is fine. Make sure you don't cover it and maybe check your temps. Also check if your PSU is decent.

I've been folding for 22 hours now with a 3700x and 1080ti but I've only collected 46,421 points. It's showing that I should get around 1.3 million per day. Is this just me that this is happening to?

Exception: 10002: Received short response, expected 512 bytes, got 0

failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time

Joined my old gaming laptop yesterday. Have experienced som glitching with finished WU's not popping up in the statistics. Hopefully they will come up later.

Only have had one small CPU task though, so I've dedicated that one to Rosetta@Home now instead where they have over 800.000 jobs queued. Running that one on the LTT team as well.

Stats seem to be delayed but does seem to vary.

Same I've got my CPU with Rosetta, folding CPU WUs were pretty sparse and short.

Rosetta ones are plentiful and extra crunchy.

Any specific setting to run Covid-19 on Rosetta ?

Tasks have weird names in them like TOTALLY_RUN_THIS_ONE_NOT_THAT_OTHER_ONE_THIS_ONE_IS_LIT

I've had my machine signed up for 24+ hours and still have yet to receive a WU. I'm feeling a bit lonely now. 😢
