!HELP! Xiaomi Mi Display 34" vs LG 27GL850

Hello,

I've been having trouble sleeping, beacuse of this problem.

I need a monitor for coding, designing websites and gaming.

I've heard that VA has trouble displaying text - it's not clear and that's my main concern, because I'll be using either of these monitors for hours - especially with text.

The Xiaomi Mi Display is 3440x1440 34" 21:9 , while the LG 27GL850 (it would rather choose the y27q-20, than the LG) is 2560x1440 27".

I already have a monitor 24" TN panel, so I could use it as my secondary one.

Please help me choose a monitor! I honestly don't know what to do. I've been going back and forth between thousands and thousands of monitors and I don't know which one to choose.

(I'm in Europe)

Honestly no one can really help you choose between those two. It's a preference thing. You've gotta decide which style you want, and get it.

I'd get the ultrawide. That doesn't mean it'll be best for you.

You think that even though It's VA, text will be fully and easly readable, because of the resolution?

I've never heard of VA making it harder to read text.

First time I ever hear that panel's make it hard to read text.

Ultrawide is great, VA is great if you are not working with super color accuracy required tasks for which IPS would be better, Lg27GL850 is one of the top 27 inch monitors with great panel. If you would be choosing between let's say two 27 inch monitors, people could recommend one over another, but here the two are completely different markets, so really hard to give an opinion on that.

As for programming, I know that vertical space is useful, so unless gaming, do not see the real benefit of 34inch (especially since you have a second monitor). For media and games though, ultrawide is another level experience compared to simple 16:9. I would go for ultrawide as you get both worlds in one.
