Best, Upgrading RAM speed or RAM amount?

I was wondering which would better to upgrade if you were financially limited. I have 16GB 3000 speed RAM currently and was wondering would it be better to go from 16GB 3000 to 16GB 3600 DDR4 or would it be better to go from 16GB 3000 to 32GB 3200 DDR4?

i think you're fine and you don't need to upgrade. you won't gain more than 5% increase in fps (and that's if youre CPU limited) from faster ram, and you'll only benefit from 32GB if you're actually using it. unless you're playing very heavily modded games, you shouldn't need 32gb.

Usually a better graphics-card will give you the biggest improvement.

nah no need to upgrade memory, gaming doesnt use the extra capacity and the CPU wont run 3600MHz memory. Maybe the board or PSU?

His CPU may run 3600MHz RAM.

Oh, yeah.  I'd definitely recommend some good 3600MHz RAM.  Buy what you can afford with the lowest timings.  Also, something like a 4000MHz kit with low timings if you don't mind tuning the kit yourself.  Which is not difficult.

I know someone that ran this kit at 3600MHz 14-15-14-14 with tight subs on a 2700X.  And that price is amazeballs.

If you're counting from the CPU away then 1st and 3rd is wrong.  You want 2nd and 4th.  That might be what keeps you from overclocking your current kit.

Swap them and then order that kit while it's on sale.  And then while you're waiting for delivery you can learn how to overclock RAM on your current kit.
