Planning for First Ever PC Build

Hi all,

I'm right in the midst of planning my first PC build, and I've finally got a preliminary parts list together. Budget is $2000 CAD, give or take a few hundred, including a new monitor. Any and all criticism is totally welcome, and nothing is set in stone right now.

There's no CPU cooler because I'm just planning to use the AMD Wraith one that comes with the 3700X. I'm not overclocking, so it should be fine, but if temps are too high I'll just grab another one. Also, I have absolutely no experience with power supplies, so any recommendations in that department are completely welcome.

Thanks!

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

Used for?

Sorry! Forgot to include that. Used for (almost exclusively) gaming, mostly CS:GO, Tarkov, and Cyberpunk when it eventually comes out. I'm trying to build a rig that will be fairly future-proof, and carry me for a while.

If you're only doing gaming,A Ryzen 5 3600 would be just fine and u can use the extra money for a 2080,a faster RAM since Ryzen loves fast ram so much

Here You get a CPU downgrade but a huge gain in Storage,Ram Speed,And the cream of the crop of any gaming rig,The GPU.A larger monitor for a lower price

I like your original build, but would suggest a full 1TB SSD, instead of 500GB.  To make sure you have room for more than a couple of really big games.

It really depends on you, compared to boggy77's build,His has a better solid state storage,Better CPU cooler which I think is unecessary since you wont be doing any overclocking,Better air flow. But mine has a 32 inch monitor included in the price,A hybrid water cooled  2080
