if price doesn't matter.

as of right now 9900k is king. 9700k is right up there as well.

Though the 10700k is going to steal the crown whenever that gets released

New one in next years is vague :P

All depends on how much you want to spend and what equipment you currently have,,

Are you prepared to buy new memory, new motherboard?

I'd expect future games to be more aware of topology and utilize cores more efficiently so if considering the future means also future games then arguments could be made for Ryzen.  If you're talking about playing today's game tomorrow then the 9900KS.

Ryzen 1600AF is a budget king currently. Pair it with RX 590 you're good to go.

Intel 10th gen and Ryzen 3rd gen have both released*. It'll be a little while longer until we get any new architecture.
For single threaded games, Intel 9900KS.

For everything else, Ryzen 3950X.

What you need for gaming in CPU, it is more  MHz ?

If so why we have so many differences in CPU?
Why no one do single thread with 99999 MHz for gaming ;)

xeon verison is meant for server usage. consumer version is meant for video production or other types of productivity but amd is better in that department.

The 9700K slightly outperforms the 8700K, but in 2020 I would buy neither. You should consider a CPU with at least 8 cores and hyper threading, 9900K, 10700K or Ryzen 3700.

I could get behind this, but I was looking at some benchmarks.
I'm in a similar situation - actually considering the Ryzen 5 3600, 7 3700X or Ryzen 9 3900x.

Ok, huge range in price right? Absolutely. Right now paired with my 5700xt I'm not expecting a huge leap in performing across the three for current gen - but reading into what's going into Halo Infinite makes me lean towards saving up for the Ryzen 9.

I built my tower towards the end of 2018 and got my 1800x on sale for a great price, luckily my board will support this current gen but not next. So, I'm sitting here thinking should I pour the money into something that should be good for 2+ more years or buy the Ryzen 5 and do a compete system rebuild when AMD releases it's next socket.

Who knows - but I'm in no rush and I'm going to wait till prices come down/wait to see the new Zen 3's to make my decision.

AMD 5800x | ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Wifi | 980 PRO & 970 EVO  | Trident Z Royal 32GB DDR3600  | Nvidia 4080 FE  | Corsair H100i Pro | Lian-Li 011 XL ROG | Corsair RM850x |

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.
