Upgrading to 1660 GPU and Worried about CPU being a bottleneck

Hi, I'm currently running a 750 ti with my i7-2600k @ 3.40GHz and am planning to upgrade my graphics card to a MSI GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB VENTUS XS OC Video Card. My plan is to over clock my processor to hopefully 4.3 GHz on all cores (first time overclocking) but I'm still not sure if that'll be enough to get the most performance out of the GPU.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

2600k is still a decently capable processor, you will be fine

also, please note: there will ALWAYS be a bottleneck. Imagine a 9900k and a RTX 2080 Ti. They're a good pairing, but when playing a game like CS:GO(which is CPU bound), the GPU will have a much lower usage than the 9900k, which means it the CPU is bottlenecking the GPU. Play a AAA game where the GPU usage is higher than the CPU's, and suddenly the bottlenecked is switched to the GPU.

Point is, bottlenecks are always present and are based on use-case. Of course a Core 2 Duo with a 2080 Ti isn't a good idea, but as long as your part choices kind of make sense you'll be fine.

I think you'll be fine...your i7 is still pretty capable. I doubt you'll experience any type of substantial bottleneck.

You can expect a 15-20% performance bottle neck due to your CPU

Would you mind sharing how you came up with these numbers? ?

Maybe one of those weird bottleneck calculator websites
