Depends on price, really.

I am all for gluttonous overkill on power supplies though.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Wall Of Fame (Informative people/People I like): @Glenwing @DrMacintosh @Schnoz @TempestCatto @LogicalDrm @Dan Castellaneta

Why do you need a 1600W power supply

Because I can get a 850  for 160 uk pounds or the 1600w for 80 pounds

Thats TOO cheap... Check with the shop that theyve verified it's still on the up and up with a PSU tester. If they wont verify that walk away.

is it... cashconverter? i wouldn't buy used PSUs. I'm all for used parts(used coolers, cpus, gpus, motherboards, ram, cases etc.) but PSUs are one thing i avoid getting used.

also, wattage isn't the only thing you look at to determine power supply quality. there are a bunch of factors so there's this helpful list to help you determine them:

That's just the EVGA G3. I don't why it says "power pack black" in the product title on Amazon.

It's fine.

What are you system specs?

I wouldn't buy it, any testing they will have done will be putting it in a machine and if it boots, it works.

Seems like a pretty high end system.

If you're spending $750 on a CPU you shouldn't cheap out on a used ex-mining power supply.

I'd recommend checking some units like the corsair hx/hxi, be quiet dark power pro/straight power 11, Seasonic prime ultra, etc.

The Corsair HX looks to be around the same price as the EVGA G3 you linked.

You can power this with a 650 or 750 watt PSU, you should get a nice one of those instead of a used PSU that's too overpowered. There are other drawbacks for overpowered PSUs too, like shorter lifespan and worse power delivery at idle and low loads.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Cash converters is the name of the company, but yes it's a pawn shop. They're in Australia as well as UK.

I'd avoid them - and all pawn shops - like the plague.
