120 or 140mm fans on a gpu

ValveAllowsCheaters

Im buying Noctua NF-12/14 ppc 3000rm fans and placing them on my gpu.

Gpu is not a main point of this post.

Its that 120mm overlaps my gpu so would there be any point of going with a 140mm if 120mm is already too big.

No. 120mm is more than enough, it’ll push more air than og fans from gpu anyway. I done this kind of modding before and used 120mm fans so have a look by how much they are sticking out.

how did you attach them so good? i tried to attach my 90mm fan on the gpu (sapphire 1070 blower) and it was sagging. also how are the temps and noise?

It's just zipties and finding good places to secure on a heatsink. There are plenty of examples to reference online. https://www.google.com/search?q=ziptie+fans+gpu&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS873US873&sxsrf=ACYBGNR8ZuUvABBBPfDJKizi3Dr5mG66JA:1580152391798&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjd6YOwvqTnAhWXIDQIHXnqBNgQ_AUoAnoECA0QBA&biw=1874&bih=1510#imgrc=jzQGdJRouYmloM:

Has someone tried to block the open spots of the fan with plastic, like PSU manufacturers do?

If I understood it right, the air should be pushed harder threw the open space.

example at MSI A750GF:
