Need wifi adapter for desktop

So my brother needs a wifi adapter for his desktop, since he only has 802.11n router, the requirements are pretty low. Dont care about the bluetooth. What should he get?

CPU: AMD R7 5800x | GPU: XFX 5500XT 4GB | RAM: 2x8GB Kingston Fury Renegade 3600MHz CL16 | Cooling: Deepcool Gammaxx L360 | MB: Aorus B550 Elite V2 | Storage: Samsung 850 Evo 250gb & WD20EAZX | Case: Antec DF700

Adapters are a cables thing.  I think you means he needs a different WiFi access point because it has N as it’s fastest speed?

 

there are a bunch of different ways to do that.  Without knowing anything about his machine it’s hard to say what he might need

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Does he need 5GHz? If not the ASUS PCE-N15 is pretty solid.

Nope, no 5GHz wifi so this one will do fine, thanks

Nope, he doesnt need a router. The problem is that he can't run a cable from his desktop to the router and the motherboard doesn't have built in wifi either.
