Planning to build a new PC in the future, would like some advice

1. Budget & Location

My budget would be around 1400-1500$ USD.

2. Aim

The aim is to play demanding games, possibly video edit and possibly even stream some. I'll be playing at 1080p, 144hz, so the parts feel a little overkill, but I want to also futureproof for games coming out in the future.

3. Monitors

I currently run one monitor, but would like to get a second one also sometime in the future.

4. Peripherals

I'd like to hopefully buy another monitor, maybe a 144hz-240hz, maybe the 360hz monitors that'll be coming out, but I wont be using the computers money for that.

5. Why are you upgrading?

I'm upgrading because I want to play current and future games at higher than 40-60FPS on the lowest settings hahah, and once again futureproof for future games. I will also be doing some light video recording/editing, maybe even livestreaming.

 

My main question, after filling this out is that wether I should get the RTX 2070 Super, or the AMD 5700XT. There's a 100$ difference, but from what I've researched (looking at what seems to be poorly made game benchmarking videos) There is a very little FPS difference, usually them tying out on most of the games. I've been sworn to stay with Nvidia, but if I can save 100 bucks, I might aswell should. On the other end, I really like the shadow play software, and how easy it is to just start recording videos and whatnot. 

 

My build is down below, I'm also hoping to get something beefier than the Ryzen 5 3600, but any other CPU after that just spikes up the price way too much for me. Any advice? I'm open to changing any other parts aswell. Thank you!

Unless you need RTX then the 5700 XT would be a much better option

 

Only thing I'd change really is the motherboard. You won't need X570 unless you need PCIe 4. A B450 board will do fine

I got the x570 board to not have to do the BIOS update, sounds like a pain in the butt lol

Any of the MSI B450 MAX boards don't require a bios update, and I know Asrock has a few boards that support 3000 chips out of the box

While I see both companies have had their issues...

 

5700XT issues still seem SUPER common...

Near Daily....

 

By comparison to Nvidia problem threads...

 

Blame AMD New software drivers and all that if you want but as a consumer... all I keep seeing here on LTT is 5700 series WOES.. .

Black screen issues, driver bugs (fan speeds)

And I could keep going but it's easily searchable on just LTT alone...

 

Yes...Nvidia also can have issues, and do..

But...I'd give the 5700 series more time...

Unless you don't mind the troubleshooting.

if you do not need RTX then go with the 5700XT. by doing so, and by choosing the Tomahawk max mobo over a X570 you can even get a R7 3700X for only a dollar more

No need for 360Hz or 240Hz. 144Hz is plenty enough, in the future maybe plan to get 1440p 144Hz, add more storage.

I personally owned a RM psu, though it has good reviews, it has pretty bad build quality. The fan on that unit is terrible.

Also, don't always go blindly with the tier lists.

For eg. 1 year ago the evga g3 used to be in tier A, slowly down the line it made its way to tier D. Similar story is with the focus plus units.

Mwe used to be in tier A as well. Now its in tier B+.

Gigabyte gaming oc model is better and quiter than the asrock model for just $20 more.
