Best CPU for 1650 SUPER ???

Go to solution Solved by Juular,

Okay considering that R5 3500 are cheaper than R5 2600 anyway it may be worth getting but you'll need compatible motherboard, with up-to-date UEFI firmware, or you will need to update it yourself. GTX1650 Super lead vs RX580 are so tiny that you can basically treat them as the same GPU, and RX580 are cheaper.

according to my budget I have selected 1650 SUPER .  I want to game so I want Most fps without breaking the bank I'm confused to pair it with a CPU . I had selected Ryzen 5 3500 for it if you guys have better options please help !!????

I will have 8x2 DDR4 3000mhz ram

480 GB M.2 SSD

1650 super

And CPU I'm confused?

How much money do you have in total?

And where you are from. Hard to recommend anything without knowing prices and total budget but R5 3600 with GTX1650 Super looks rather imbalanced build, get R5 2600 and GTX1660 Ti\Super but it's important which SSD you get exactly, not all of them are good and it's even more important which PSU you get, don't cheap out on it.

Oooh, R5 3500 ? It's 6-thread tho, getting R5 2600 might be a better idea and i pretty sure that R5 3500 wouldn't work on any A320 motherboard and you'll need to update UEFI for it on B450 boards. And GTX1650 Super are no better than RX580 so there are no reason to pay more for it.

Get a Ryzen 5 2600, rx580/480 from AliExpress. R5 2600 goes for around Rs 7000-8000. And Rx 480/580 goes for around Rs. 6000 that too with free international shipping.

This can be considered as a reference..

Ryzen 5 2600-

RX480-

https://m.aliexpress.com/wholesale/Rx480.html?searchType=mainSearch&keywords=Rx480&shadingAction=&channel=direct

The 3500 might be better in single threaded workloads, but in multithreaded workloads, it gets stomped by the Ryzen 5 2600 because of its 6 extra threads which would be useful in the long run.

A 1650 super can be compared to a rx580/590. Getting a rx580 fr less than half price of 1650 super should really make it worth.

Get a cheapo b450 board with 16gb 3000/3200mhz ram and a SSD fr the boot drive.

This might be helpful in selection of Mobo, SSD and PSU.

So, why not the R5 3500 and the 1650 Super which is a good combination no questions asked? rx 480/580 isn't better but draws more power, exceeding the given TDP of 150w at times. If gaming is taken into account I can assume that the difference will be around 50w of power drawn, on average. Living in a high-price area, for me it would result in $50 or more a year extra just because of the graphics card. How is this in India? I don't know.

The R5 does good in gaming, so far. It doesn't have SMT/HT compared to the 3600, so future games that may take more advantage of SMT will probably turn the table. The R7 2600 is a good in-between choice. Both are fast enough to not being the bottleneck whether they are used in combination with the 1650 Super or the rx580.

It depends on the bios used if the 3500 will work on A320(m). I'd look for x370 first if full-size is wanted, b350m/b450m if µatx is preferred.

Also, the advise of buying stuff from e.g. Aliexpress isn't usually a good one depending of the country you live in. How is it in India? I don't know, but those giving the advice don't know it either. Where I live I can expect extra costs for stuff that exceeds $25 and buying a mainboard or graphics card at $40+ will for sure be followed by at least $30 in taxes, fines and so on.

I think R5 3500 is better and for GPU I may consider RX580?

The difference between the 2600 and 3600 isnt going to be as big as the difference between a 1650 Super and say.. a 1660S/Ti or even rx 590.

He's suggesting getting a better GPU, since the performance gains will be better than a slight CPU upgrade.

I am saving About 18 USD if I choose R5 3500 over R5 2600 , and I'm getting newer generation , Zen 2 , More Boost and Faster Processor . So I think 3500 will be better . what you guys think about it ???

And if i choose 1650SUPER over RX580. I save 17 USD And get GDDR6 over GDDR5 faster memory , Turing encoders , But 4gb less memory . GPU is confusing me ( but 1650 Super performs better ) I'm thinking what can I do with that extra 4gb memory??
