Help me undervolt my RX 5700 XT

RazenMdr

Hello

I got a new graphics card today, the MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT MECH OC and it's very loud when i play heavy games (PUBG, ...)

I google'd it a bit and found out people were "undervolting" the card in radeon setttings.

I'm a beginner and I don't really know what i'm doing, I played a bit with the curves in the Radeon Software but i'm afraid to break something...

If someone else has got that card : can I get your settings ?

And if not, how should i proceed to find the right max. voltage / max. frequency ?

Knowing that my main goal is to reduce the fan noises.

Here are my current settings :

(Right : Underclock / Left : Fans)

These values did improve it a bit but it's not perfect yet, and i'm afraid to go lower.

Can anyone help me ?

Thanks in advance !

You can just lowering that curve down and run stress test until it get unstable, then upscale it to last stable value. You can't really break it

I'll do some testing this afternoon, what should i lower tho ? Frequency or voltage ?

go as low as you want until you get it to where you want.

I am using a 5700xt pulse, my BEST scores were when i lowered the speed of the card (1.9 ghz instead of the default stock speed).

My methodology:

- lower card by 25mV.

- run a combination of superposition, valley, and firestrike

- if stable, lower again

- keep lowering voltage until you get the lowest stable voltage / speed.

- make an table of Voltage/card speed/temperature (especially junction) and fps/score

- lower speed by 100mhz

-start at top

After 3 days of testing, I got my card to 1.060v, 1.9ghz. Not the best silicone lottery but not bad either. My temps are 62C core, 83C junction. Fans are whisper quiet.

I refuse to read threads whose author does not know how to remove the caps lock!

I have them set at auto as my pulse has a zero rpm mode

With stock settings, I had my fans go up to 2800 RPM while playing pubg.

I did some tweaking today and now it goes up to 1700 RPM maximum, while not going over 80°C so I guess it's fine.

Here are my settings if that can help someone

What's your junction temp at? I find those are the hottest on 5700xt cards
