Uhhhh my cpu is stuck to my cooler. Help

WoodyWoo

Well its plainly obvious its stuck. I haven't had this problem before. What do I do? Do I use a heat gun to melt the paste? do I force it?

i've heard people saying that dental floss should work

https://www.wikihow.com/Remove-a-Processor-Fused-to-a-Heatsink

Anything i've written between the * and * is not meant to be taken seriously.

keep in mind that helping with problems is hard if you aren't specific and detailed.

i'm also not a professional, (yet) so make sure to personally verify important information as i could be wrong.

You could try to gently twist with the cooler on a flat surface. Just be careful not to apply to must force and have the paste give way and fly off somewhere and get damaged.

i mean.

i used a pair of scissors to scrape old thermal compound off a chip on a mobo on an old Terastation so it's not hard just feels unprofessional to do whilst at work

Check make sure the pins aren't bent, they usually bend when getting ripped out like this.  Its always advisable to twist the cpu cooler before pulling on it to break the adhesion, especially with stock AMD coolers and TIM.  From picture you look okay though, but i'd check it, with a magnifying glass if need be (if slightly far sighted), before reinstalling it

If the pins are bent, this might help
