Nvme Gen4 is compatible with gen 3?

Hi what i want to know is Nvme Gen4 compatible with gen 3 enclose and motherboards?  I show the Gigabyte Aorus Nvme Gen4 but i want to know if compatible with gen 3 parts like  enclose and motherboards before i place my bid.

yes, they should be backwards compatible with the slower speeds

You planning on getting an X570 board ? If not then not really much point buying a Gen 4 unless it is cheaper than a Gen 3.
