Hello,

I was wondering if there were a way for me to fix my laptops brick thing after I dropped it on the ground. It no longer seems to be charging the laptop though I can hear the electricity when I plug the plug into the socket. I believe it is the transformers problem since I think I heard the iconic electricity zap when plugging  the two parts in ( the part where you connect the plug to the actually transformer which then lets you plug the laptop,(though I no longer hear it)) Is there a way to fix this or will I need to get a near transformer? I have dropped it before without any noticeable problems( though provided long-term damage my have been a cause). Any solutions or advice to this? Thank you.

It's probably not the transformer but maybe a loose cable or cracked solder join (a component is no longer soldered properly onto the board inside)

It can potentially be fixed by opening it and resoldering the loose connection, if you're lucky and if you know what you're doing.

If you don't or don't have the tools, don't mess with it as you could electrocute yourself. Just buy a new one or go with it to a service center.

Hey,

Do you mean the Transformers motherboard?

The transformer inside the brick is just a part of many. Yes, there's a board inside. But it could be another component on that board, or it could be a loose wire (between the power connector and the board) or it could be anything.
