Hi, looking to setup my own nas and have been looking on some cheap mini-itx boards but all of then has two sata3 ports and two sata2 ports, and im gonna be running 4 drives i my nas, as far as i can figure out freenas ond openmediavault do run software raid, so can i combine 4 drives over differende sata speeds?

Yes, you can. Besides, a mechanical HDD will not be able to saturate a SATA-bus anyways, so it doesn't really matter that two ports are SATA2.

What boards are you looking at that have SATA2 ports? This is 2019 after all... :D
