So i have some 92mm oem fans that i got from school for free and was wondering since the wires on the fans aren't long engouh to reach the fan pins on my motherboard would the fans that are not connected to a fan mount and just are in the case provide any type of positive air flow in the case.

My case is the Bitfenix Comrade.

I can imagine the fans will vibrate, which if they rest against the wrong surface might create some noise.

This won't hurt anything, but isn't great either.

Or you could just purchase some fan extension cables:

So would it maybe give some positive airflow or nah?

If you are placing it somewhere where it can draw in fresh air, sure.

Might be quite minimal though, so you might as well take the chance to do something fun with the fans. Making a portable fan for the summers.. Exhaust fan for soldering? Unlimited options!
