i7 2600k overclock cooler recommendation (2019)

Hi, first I need to say that yes I still use this cpu and probably use it as long as I could so don't tell me to change it thanks :) 

Alright guys I am considering be quite! Dark Rock Pro but its hard to find in my country so will the non pro Dark Rock 4 do the job. I plan to go 4.5 on my i7 2600k with the possiblity of 4.7 any one have any ideas what temps I could get. Also any air cooler suggestions to reach those clock speeds is appreciated. Thanks

4.5ghz is achievable quite easily on Sandy Bridge cpus, heck if you are luck even a stock intel cooler might be sufficient. As for coolers, can you give us a website so that we can check what you can get? and also a budget would be nice.

Any cheap 30~40$ cooler will do the job.

Yup. I got a 3570K (which is delidded) and I have a really bad overclocking chip but I am still able to hit 4.5ghz with a shitty 10 year old hyper 212. Hyper212 would be a safe bet for you, however considering how hard we are getting fucked with these prices I would suggest you to attempt to overclock with stock cooler first then report back how much further you were able to push it.

Well my paste is shit so a little afraid of doing it I better get some good paste first but I don't get it how is it possible even with the crap coolers to get such clock speeds. Aren't these things suppose to run hot ? I mean they are old

There was someone selling Arctic Silver 5 on n11.com (I actually bought from that seller years ago). Sandy Bridge is an AMAZING overclocking architecture and it was last consumer i3,i5 and i7 to come with soldered IHS (meaning no delidding but its also not even necessary). We had members here overclocking past 5ghz with decent air coolers. My 3570K also does 4.2ghz with stock voltages, just due to my chip being shitty I need to run %25 more voltage to get reach 4.5ghz (yes, I need 1.44v for 4.5ghz, there are people running 5ghz with that voltage). If you dont have decent thermal paste, I would just suggest you to get Hyper212, it comes with decent thermal paste.

I have been testing the oc and really suprised to see 4.5ghz at 1.31 volts, 50C idle a bit toasty for know but still. Thanks for your help hyper 212 is budget friendly.

Running a 2600K at 5ghz with a 212 will depend on your chip, as for 5ghz daily goes, sure why not? I have been pushing 1.44v on my cpu for 6 years now. I have yet to see what "degradation" is. I have some shitty fans and absolutely no case fans at all, my 3570K idles at 39c on hottest core and peaks out at 95c while testing with linx (mind you I have every power saving feature disabled, and I run 1.44v through my cpu all the time)

The H411R is alright but a larger 120mm tower cooler would probably be better. 70c is is excessively low and probably unrealistic if you're aiming for 5ghz. Most can hit 4.7ghz.

What case and ram are you using?

How much v you pushing to hit that 4.5? I have 3570K and doing 4.5 at 1.25v on hyper 212 black and temps are still great ~70c

It's been some time guys but here with some good news. I've gone for dark rock 4 and pushed for 4.7 with 1.420v. Temps are reasonable with 70C° max in game and 87C° max while prime95 running the max heat test. It feels like a success. What you guys think?
