I have two video cards with current issues I was hoping for some insight on.

  1.  I have the GTX Titan X (Maxwell) and a while back I put the EVGA ACX conversion kit on it (100-FS-2990-B9). It worked for years, but a couple months ago the card stopped powering on. This weekend I removed the ACX completely, and checked the PCB...it looks OK. I figured I'd try and throw an EVGA hybrid cooler for it (400-HY-0990-B1) that I had lying around. Only I can't find the old stock Titan X parts since I moved :( Is there any way I can validate the card will even power on with no type of cooling/anything? I don't want to spend any more $ if the PCB is shot.
  2. I have the GTX 1080 FE, it has an EVGA hybrid cooler (400-HY-5188-B1) on it because the 1080 FE's used to throttle so easily. I actually had two of these in SLI same cooler, well one works, the other does not. The second one's fan won't turn on. I have tried two different replacements that I had lying around and neither of them will power on via the connector. The card will turn on, the fan won't. My next step is to try and see if connecting the fan directly to the motherboard will work. If this doesn't work, its a problem, because I also don't have the stock pieces for this card either, they were in the same box as the Titan X parts. For this card, I know it powers on and is more recent, so I am more committed to getting it working.

So, if I can't get card 2's fan to work, and/or card 1 can be validate to power on at the pcb level, what options do I have for "spare parts"? Both of the AIO solutions are discontinued, I've contacted the manufacturer about both, and they aren't for sale anywhere that looks legit that I could find. Is there a way you can buy a cooler for both GTX Titan X and/or GTX 1080 FE that don't require stock parts? Im in a pickle because I lost that box with the old shroud/parts and am unsure of what to do.

If you have spare cpu cooler and managed to install it temporarily it should work

Well if you can insure the header is still supplying the correct power, you could always put an evga acx cooler on the card. Should be able to hit max boost with it. If it is an actual fe card I can’t see it being that high.
