Cant set 240hz in display adaptor properties

Go to solution Solved by Quivz,

Oh wait... NVM... Turns out the cable is hitting the monitors case and i have to wiggle it around a bit to get it seated properly. It seems to be working now, but i reckon if i put the cable managemnt shroud back on i'll shift the cable again... Why do cable manufacturers assume you'll have infinite space for their massive connector with all their branding splattered all over it. It goes behind things. I'm gonna see that branding like 3 - 4 times in the life of the cable. And i'm definitely gonna buy a different brand now.

I don't know if a mod can just delete this thread or if it should remain for the occasional other user that comes up against the same thing.

Bought a new monitor (AW2518HF) and i cant change the refresh rate higher than 144hz. The 240hz option is there, but if i hit apply the screen just blanks and i have to wait for it to revert.

Plugged into a 1060 via displayport. cable is displayport 1.4 certified.

2 other monitors, my secondary display is only 60hz and tertiary is my graphics tablet also only 60hz. None of the displays are duplicated.

I'm not concerned about being able to push the frames to utilize it (2080 super is in the mail), i want to know why i cant set it successfully in the first place.
