gaming build between the ryzen 5 3600 vs ryzen 7 2700x

The key word here is gaming, for gaming the clear winner is 3600.  If you had said you also do a bunch of render/workstation stuff with the rig it'd be a tougher call, but the 3600 cores are faster than the 2700x cores, simple as that for gaming.  Done.

i would go for 3600 for gaming.

6 hyperthreaded cores so it's like a i7-8700..these things crush games...i don't believe you need more than that for gaming for a good while.

i use 8700K overclocked and it's flawless across the board.

the cooling on this sucks...the card will be loud and will run fairly hot...

if you don't mind such things, it's fine.

Is it a good deal though

you know what...not really...

i'd rather spend 400$ on a newer card that is similar in performance like radeon 5700XT

Pretty sure in a year from now this card will outperform a 1080ti in most new titles.

Right now im deciding on a gaming build between the ryzen 5 3600 vs ryzen 7 2700x. Which one should i get?

3600 with 3600mhz CL16 RAM if it's cheap

Still a solid card roughly equal to the 2070 super, but if the bid ends up over $400 I don't think it's worth it given how the price of the RX 5700 XT is falling for decent after market cards.

the 5700 XT is like 95% of a 1080ti

Also don't think water cooling is really necessary with a decent aftermarket cooler these days, it's more useful on the CPU

That isn't a buy it now so you have no way of knowing for sure what the price will be when bidding ends.  You cannot assume it'll end at $355.  So the easier answer is, are you going to watch it for 6 mins to see it get outbid?

right now i'd say it's more like 85-88% but still...i'd rather have a brand new one of these instead of a poorly built 1080ti

1 min 20, still same price, should i do it

I would rather just have a card with a good air cooler you don't need to worry about

and the actual bid may be higher than $350, that's just the minimum bid shown that someone has placed.

Yeah, im just looking for something better than the 5700 in the same pricerange

Wait did you buy the card for $415 or did you stop bidding around that level?

It's just really hard to beat the value of the 5700, blower models of it go for $299, and if you're going to watercool and overclock anyways it'll be the same as a 1080ti, with a few more features like image sharpening to cheat out more fps.

you can just flash an XT bios on the non XT card as well assuming it has dual bios for easy recovery.

I stopped bidding,

The Pulse is actually down to $329, it's one of the best 5700s, easy to flash the XT bios on it as well, hard to beat in terms of value.

Have in mind this is stock for stock, the 1080 Ti gains more than the 5700XT from overclocking.

The 1080 Ti is fine and by all means a better GPU, it has more features and steady drivers etc, but I would indeed stay away from bad coolers, only two blowers 1080 Ti are good, the FE and ASUS Turbo due to how they have special vapor chamber layouts

It's great if you already have one but if you're buying today do prefer brand new cards and only go for the used one of it's a good model for a good price.

OP can afford a 5700XT or a 1080 Ti and you come with a 5700 telling him flashing it's vBios is some miracle? Doing so forces a higher default frequency curve on the GPU and that's it, it does not turn it into a 5700XT all it does is give you a small boost over stock operation thanks to that frequency which can be almost be achieved by simply overclocking the card in the first place.

No that's a lesser-performing card and it can even cost same or more.  You should watch the video where LTT reviewed the RX 5700 (and XT) cards, they show just how bad a value the 2060 Super is.
