Should I get the RM650X watt or 750X watt from Corsair?

Go to solution Solved by Fasauceome,

You should get a TX550M. More than enough power and also higher quality.

Rig:

-i7 6700

-Z170 gaming a

-16 gig ram DDR4

-XFX RX 590 Fatboy

-Corsair CX 750 psu (green)

-250 gig ssd

-Aerocool GT-A 2top fans, 1 backfan and 1 frontfan

-screen 144hz 1080p LG monitor

Can I step down from 750 to 650 watt or is this not adviced?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You could even get by with a 500w unit.

650 it is then thank you! I'm taking this because it's more futurproof!

It's not future proof since modern parts always become more efficient

In my local store the TX550M is 10 euro's less then the RM650. Not worth it imo, unless the TX550 is way more efficient then the 650.

Wait so higher quality? I was expecting that the 650 would have had higher quality and more efficiency too...

You're saying that TX-M is higher quality than RMx?

For what is worth it OP did say: "In my local store the TX550M is 10 euro's less then the RM650."

The problem with these similar names is that now we're not sure whether or not he still meant the RMx 2018 or the RM 2019, as far as I recall the TXM does put up more of a fight against the 2019's RM.

I suppose we gotta confirm with OP what he means, if it's the actual RMx 2018 then yeah I'd say worth the extra 10 bucks for sure.

The RM not the RMx, though the body of the post says RM while the title says RMx

Spoiler

In my local store the TX550M is 10 euro's less then the RM650

The RM is not as good as the TXM yes? Or am I mistaken here

I was looking at the title.

RMx is better than RM or TX-M, sure.

TX-M is better than RM component quality wise.

The one I saw and the one I talked about is the 650 RMX (2018). Costs 10 dollars more then the TX550. Strange that my local store doesn't meantion a year with the TX550.

This is exacly the reason why I want the RMx. Thnx for mentioning!
