Scam or no scam what do you think?

It seems way too cheap...

I won't be eating the rest of the month lol but I'd get it if it's legit anyways.

They usually go for 500-600€ here as far I can tell (Germany)

What would such a card cost elsewhere if it's even available?

Maybe importing would be an option,  but realistically I can't spend more than €300 (+ perhaps import fees)

And yes it *has* to be NVIDIA + 8GB min requirement... ._.

5700xts are going for less.  It sounds at least right. Maybe even high.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Do have some links for GTX 1070 cards around that price (~U$400) because like I said they're all way more expensive here (unless used)

Nope.  I’m not in the market currently.  I’m just saying that the 5700xt is faster and cheaper than that one so I am not surprised to see an out of date card selling for a reduced price.

I see.  Well,  this is a selection of "cheap"  1070 cards here ...  That price of €370 is very unusual... So I kinda think it's a scam.

I mean,  I know at that point I could get a 2060S but A) I don't have ~€450 which a good one easily costs and  B) I think I would prefer a 1070/ti (for less than €400)

But, outside this one offer I'm not finding anything,  maybe have to wait for next year then.

Might be.  I don’t advise you buy it.  I do think the price is fair to high.  Is there a particular reason you need a 1070 over a newer card?

Not really, I just need a nvidia 8GB with good cooling that's faster than my current card.

I was honestly thinking the same thing you said,  1070 should be quite cheap and as such more affordable... but as you see definitely not in my country, it's more expensive than a 2060S even, which doesn't really make sense.  :/

so yeah, while tempting something is fishy about that EVGA card,  it's not even a cheap brand / model.

For €30 more you can get the "KFA2 GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER EX" that is faster, and have what should be only slightly worse cooler than this EVGA that you posted. The Gainward Phantom GS might be a good option, but i wasn't able to find much on the 2060S version.

Also why do you need a Nvidia 8GB card? if you explain it might be easier to find the best option, because if it could be an AMD card it would be quite easy to recommend the XFX DD Ultra RX5700 for €320 or the Power Color Red Dragon for €340 over the KFA2 2060 Super.

The KFA is indeed about the only "current gen" option that could be considered realistically, but like I said a "cheap" 1070 would be preferable and well, I'm just looking around for deals... I've seen a few pretty nice ones used on eBay (around €300) but I'm reluctant going that route - and to be honest I probably should save up a bit more money that would make this all easier hah.

Another reason I don't really want the KFA is I've talked about this with a friend and we came to the conclusion a 3 fan card is necessary to keep temps and noise down for the 2060S so it's not ideal, I could still try it of course, maybe it's not so bad.

I'm also "alternatively" looking for a really cheap / "mining" 1070ti or similar (around €100) that I could then water-cool, but it's really difficult finding something and I'm just not into the whole eBay auction thing too much,  it's still something to consider...

Omg! Why are you even looking at a 1070 then?  Unless the 2060S is 6gb.  I personally wouldn’t bother with anything less than 8gb right now.  1070 might be the slowest 8gb around.  Is this 1070 online only?  If it’s in a store make em boot a machine and confirm it isn’t a 470 with a glued on cooler or something

Uh, trust me I'd definitely prefer a 2060S, it's just a price question...

Like I said I apparently was under the wrong impression I could get a 1070(ti) for cheap... and that would probably be good enough for 1-2 years...

But you're right,  I should probably just save up some more and get a 2060 Super, huh (kinda feel a 2060 would be disappointing and kinda not worth it compared to a super - unless super cheap of course!)   :D

A 2060 IS a 1070.  Just with some super useless rtx primitive hardware ray tracing tacked on.  You want an 8gb one though. A 2060S is a 1070 with gddr6 memory and it’s just as fast as a 1080.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Yeah well pretty much - still in my mind a 1070 would still be huge upgrade to my 1060... But financially it doesn't make any sense basically

Also I had this crazy idea to get a super cheap used 1070/80/ti and slap an AIO on it - because honestly, as long it works... It would be perfect and all in all only about ~€200-230. And the AIO is reusable!  ?

Problem is finding that card! Haha

1070 and 2060S power consumption is about the same when talking about AIB models due to Pascal cards often being heavily OC'd, if you want a triple fan model the Gainward one should be good enough for the price(€410). But the RX5700 Red Dragon is probably better when considering the price difference if you don't need Cuda, OGL or Nvenc.

Also the 1070/1070ti are in no way worth the money, €300+ for only 40% more performance is a waste of money imo.

True. I would get the nzxt one (but no nzxt AIO cause I hate CAM)  I'd do it Jayztwocents style if needed, I do have dremel,  no issues!   ;)

Look, I only play one game,  it would not be a waste and I know both of those cards would achieve what I want (max settings + recording at not shitty bitrates)

The problem is where is that card?  They're all between 500 and 600 euros, or more! :(
