PSU making a single click while on BIOS

Hello
As the title says , my PSU makes a clicking sound(not constant ) on low power demanding tasks i guess
When accessing BIOS my PSU will make a single click noise once ( the same noise when i press the power button on my PC to turn it ON)
There is no noise when booting up the PC except for this initial clicking noise but i guess that it is the PSU turning ON
This noise also happens on a memory diagnostic from windows (again , low power usage)
I have a 500w PSU i5 9400f 1060 6gb tuf b360 gaming plus 8gb ram
Note that normal use is fine and this sound does not happen when gaming or browsing ( no BSOD , freezing , shutdown restart nothing)
I´ve read somewhere that this is a undervolt protection from PSU
I plug my PC directly into the power outlet
Is this safe or there is a problem?
Thank you
Also bios on default no OC

It is hard to say exactly what is going on. If it is frequent at the BIOS but doesn't come up any other time, then it could be the PSU cycling between low and high power delivery modes (like it would do when the PC goes from Sleep to On). Perhaps the BIOS just happens to sit right at the threshold. The sound is probably a relay flipping, so letting it flip back and forth a lot will eventually cause wear, but if it doesn't happen while the computer is booted, then I wouldn't worry about it. If you have a spare HDD, you could try connecting that to create extra power-draw just to test that theory, but I am not suggesting adding a needless device just for this reason.

It could be under-voltage protection, but I don't understand why it would only happen at the BIOS. If you heard a click anytime your A/C cycled on, then that is what is happening and if it is bad enough, it will eventually wear-out the PSU, but like I said, that wouldn't be a BIOS only thing. I once lived in an old house that was a PSU killer. The lights would notably dim anytime the A/C kicked on. Power supplies would only last about a year before they died (that was in the 90s when high-end PSUs didn't really exist). I ended up having to buy UPS batteries for any sensitive electronics.

I don´t know now

But yes it is always a single click after some time on bios( it does not click more than once)

The click does not happen if i leave bios fast enough( the click always happen at the same given time at bios , 5 minutes approximately and it does not happen anymore)

The weird thing is that i don´t hear this click again when leaving bios and going to windows ( note that the computer is still on all the time , it does not shut off)

Yes it only happens on bios but it happened on the memory diagnostic tool once too

I also wanted to know , can this PSU somehow damage the other components in my computer?

Is it bad to keep using it like this or should i rma?

Thank you

It is produced by channel well technology

Ok.  It's fairly new, right?  Like under a year old?

That's the PSU switching from LLC to burst mode in order for the PSU to be more efficient at loads < 10%.

It's totally normal.

The Corsair RM (also made by CWT) and the Cooler Master MWE V2 does the exact same thing, BTW.

But the weird thing is that i don´t hear this click again when booting to windows(my pc goes from bios to windows without shutting down or restarting and i don´t hear it clicking again)

These psus you mentioned also do this on BIOS?

Thank you

It's normal.

Yes.

And people don't know you're responding to them if you don't use "quote" or tag them.
