In need of troubleshooting help with motherboard upgrade on Plex server(Win 10 Pro).

I bought a new motherboard on eBay "ASUS P8Z77-V LK". I had an existing i7-3770 in a no name Chinese refurb motherboard. This setup was/is still working. I wanted to replace/upgrade motherboard to add more data connections for hard drives. I also had one issue with the Chinese setup when the cpu would not turbo? Max was 3.4ghz(also another reason I bought an upgraded chipset for this cpu to possibly get that turbo frequency).

Issue:

Asus board Dram_led flashes during POST. No bios splash screen(no video input at all! integrated graphics being used-hdmi). when I click the mem ok button it goes through the described procedure in OM which basically tests different frequencies until a bootable profile had been found. Once it is done the light turns solid and stops rebooting. No motherboard beeps to help me out.

I have tried 3 different ram brands with different capacities and frequencies [xpg(8gb stick), g. skills (4 and 8 gb stick mixed all configs), viper (8gb)].

I have also switched out the cpu from i7-3770 to i3-3240 to no avail.

Used two different power supplies.

I am lost at what else to do. I have asked for anyone around me to see if I can borrow a 2nd gen processor, hopefully someone does. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have one of those ; You got ram in the right slots ie

if running dual slots in blue lanes.

I using KVR16LN11/8  Kingston (2*8Gb).

Runs all 3rd Gen but not 2nd Gen which req 1333Mhz.

Also check your cpu power connectors are clicked in properly.

Had one once where i hadn't clicked in on the psu properly;

gave same symptoms.

I have tried all slots, but those were my first ram slots(blue) I tried.

I am pretty sure I had it clicked but I will double check.

I just took the motherboard out and am trying to put my old Plex config in, want my Plex server back up ha.  I will be testing again in about 10 minutes outside of a case.

Have you tried, clear CMOS then use only 1 stick in the 2nd closest slot to the CPU.

I will try clearing the cmos again, I could have not waited long enough ha. Yes I had used 1 stick in the blue second closest to cpu. It didn't work unfortunately.

So I changed nothing except for removing the motherboard/cpu/ram/cooler outside of case and using unused power supply(second one I tested with) the computer just boots....hell of a lot of work removing the motherboard and putting old one back in my case ha. Sorry for the post then. I am not sure currently what had changed but the computer posted and went straight to BIOS. It is currently running perfectly.  I will updating the bios if it is not already at the newest and will be placing back into the Plex case. Thanks guys!

System worked outside of case, not exactly sure of what changed. Will be installing back into case and will reply if issue starts again.
