Hello guys,

I have a dilemma and i need your advice, i have a m.2 ssd  ADATA XPG Gammix S11 Pro 1TB and a Kingston A400 480GB SATA-III .

Is it better to install OS on  SSD and keep the M.2 for games to give me a bit extra fps, less loading time etc.

Or  install OS on nvme and keep the ssd for games.

I know m.2 is better for OS but the thing is i want to split the OS and my games folder in 2 partitions to prevent data loss in case of system failure but i don`t kinda want to partition the M.2 because i heard partitioning can affect  performance.

The question is:

There will be any performance loss if i install the OS on SSD instead M.2?

I only use my pc for gaming.

SSD doesn't affect the FPS at all, only affects load times,

When it comes to load times the difference between NVME and SATA SSDs is small,

But when it comes to transferring files there is a huge difference.

Games and OS both dont benefit from the extra speed that much, but games (with their larger file sizes) are more affected. I'd use that for game storage
