Small Business Network Upgrade HELP

I may have the opportunity to upgrade a small business network that I installed (poorly) when I worked there. I am an IT technician and this is my first job in this field. I have a couple degrees, and certifications, but I never really put what I had to real life work. It was all mostly logical. Book work and so on.

Anyways...

So, they have a cable modem/router with 4 port switch. All the ports on the router run to other L2 switches. But one of the switches is right next to the router. So I have 11 or so cables right there.

For cost efficientness (made up word) I sent the owner a list, all from Amazon, about what I would install to mainstream the network, and centralize and clean up the MDF.

TP Link L2 gig 24port switch

6u open rack (possibly replace with a locking one for security)

8 outlet PDU

1u shelf

Case of Cat6 cable

24port patch panel

being that most of the cable is different color and lengths, I am going to cut the ends and keystone them and place them in the ceiling and run individual "patch cables" that will be visible and make a service loop in the cabinet and run the other ends to the patch panel, then smaller patch cables from the panel to the switch.

What does this sound like to you guys? Is there a method that is overkill/under, nooby, what? I am new to this, as far as professional, so I would like some aid in this! I love it!

Seems fine for a basic network, but a flat network isn't the best for security if that matters to you.

I was thinking that to. But for what they do, I was thinking of keeping the with a virus protection software and windows defender.

still not the best. Id try to make subnets with different types of devices if you can.

Are you running AD or any servers? What type of deevices?

They have max of 20-25 ethernet devices. Few printers, 8-10 desktop PC's, and some IP phones, and a mesh wireless network. but the IP phones were installed after the fact, and the company ran some desktop L2 PoE switches to accomadate the phones, so if I had the budget I'd setup at least a L3 PoE switch, assign subnets, and do it legit. But money....
