Hi everyone.

Today I build my first pc and it booted on the first try! :D

But when I turned my PSU on I saw a white flash. Do I need to worry about it because it worked just fine.

The PSU I have is a Corsair RM650x.

The flash was inside the PSU. I think it was in the neighbourhood of the on switch.

Inside the PSU.

Unless the PSU has some kind of LED lighting to begin with, it shouldn't be flashing.

Use the good old smell test, if it smells like burnt wiring, I'd return it and get a new one.

If no smell, I wouldn't sweat it

Could have been the switch making contact. You'll often times see a spark when you plug something into the wall socket if you don't insert ground first. You can also often see a spark when flipping a lot of switches or push buttons. Example: I use a pedestal fan every night to sleep. It has four buttons, one for off and three more for different power settings. When I push a button to turn it on, sometimes it will spark. Usually when I hit a button to turn it off, it also sparks. This happens just about all the time. It's nothing to worry about. As stated before, as long as it doesn't smell bad, you should be fine.

Well I didn't smell anything so it must have been the switch making contact. Thanks a lot you two!
