troubleshoot Laptop power button broken Toshiba Satellite E45W C4200X

Please help me figure out how to turn this laptop on. I was able to turn this on before with a simple piece of metal (headphone jack). It only worked once. I don't know how I did it exactly but now it seems as if I may have shorted it or something.

yeah you could very well have shorted something and hopefully its just the switch and nothing downstream from it, you maybe even lucky if just a smt cap next to it blew,  but with no black marks marking the spot, who knows.
