Do not upgrade to 2700 from 1700, no point sicne 1700 is powerful enough.

You should get a decen 500w psu and you should buy 1660 super.

How much razm you have? since ryzen like faster ram. 16 gb in dual channel ram would be good.

I suggest you to clean install winwdows when upgrading, basically put your windows to usb, with windows media creation tool and then install it again (you need to remember your license key).

2700 wont be better then the 1700?

It will be better, but by not that much and not worth the price, since you already have  a good cpu. Just upgrade your gpu for now, and upgrade to 4th gen ryzen, at the end of the next year.

already got a 500w on the way and bought the 1660 non super because of my case me mini atx and the super cards were way more money, it has 16 g already the 2700 wont be better then the 1700?

from the looks of it, your PC is using a proprietary PSU. A regular 500w PSU won't be able to fit in it.

you are correct there is a newer small form factor hp psu that fits with small mods

ok, you may need to check with HP's webpage for a BIOS that supports the 2700.

hp does suport the 2700 just not the 2700x

Thats does not make any sense. the 2700x is literally same as 2700, but with bigger tdp(can be the case here, since your motherboard is not that good if it can not handle more than 65w tdp). If you can run 2700 you can run 2700x too.

Go to your computers official webpage and download updates from there.

the earlier BIOS revisions may not the support the 2700, so you'll need to check first before you make the upgrade.

if things take a turn for the worse, and you don't think you can make it yourself you should take it to a pc repair shop.

it might cost some money but it can save you some money on parts that might get bricked.

(you should do fine after reading what's been posted) but just in case something goes wrong.
