2060 super or 2080ti

Hi,

 

I have a decition to make but i cant decide which one to do

 

So currently i have two pcs 

 

Main PC 

 

Ryzen7 2700

16gb ram

msi 2070 gaming z 

2tb ssd

 

HTPC/NAS

 

Ryzen 5 2600

16gb ram

MSI Ventus OC 1650

1TB SDD  + 4x 12TB HDD in RIAD 10 

 

My question is this currently my HTPC is mainly used for watching movies in 4k either directly from the machine or serving them to other devices via plex now the 1650 is fine for this however i want to start playing some more games on this machine as about the only thing it can handle is minecraft and i have to play in 1080p and up scale for decent framerate so my question is this obviosuly the bottle neck here is GPU so do i save up and buy a 2060 super for my HTPC or do i double down and buy a 2080ti for my main pc and put the 2070 (non super) in my htpc.

 

also if your wondering why i even bothered with th 1650 in the first place i was given it for free by a friend who got a prebuilt in a sale and upgraded the graphics card for a 2060

2080ti is a waste of money and nobody should really buy it. If you actually play games that need that much power, 2080super should be the only card you consider.

okay fair enouugh but is it worth saving up to supgrade my 2070 with a 2080 super or should i jsut get a 2060 super for my htpc and call it a day?

Id honestly say 2070 to 2080 is not worth the money. Id wait a few Generations unless something breaks. Or get a used GPU in a few years when the next gen is here
